1938 - First Communion in the church "Gran Madre di Dio" in the Rome’s district Ponte Milvio. Look at the large jacket: I used it until I was 15 years old.

That year Adolf Hitler came in Rome for an official visit. Hitler and Benito Mussolini sat into an uncovered auto and some big monoliths – supposedly marble monoliths expressing the great and incorruptible Rome’s power - welcomed them all along the street which led to the stadium Foro Mussolini. One of my aunts, Giuseppa also called “Peppa”, lived nearby the shop of a wood worker, which was located at the beginning of Via della Farnesina. I spent almost all my afternoons there and I could see the carpenter at work. He was very busy, building all those white-painted wooden monoliths.
