1936 - With my grandmother Tota.
To tell about my grandmother Tota (my father’s mother Antonia Piergiovanni) even an encyclopaedia would not be enough. I will only tell you that she was as a mother for me, after my mother’s death. I have inherited from Tota all her stubbornness and all her spirit of initiative, some features of which I don't repent.

Once upon a time they called me "Little Mouse", because nobody could compete with me in running. I was considered moreover a champion in the marbles play. In Rome, marbles are called "berge". Because of the rugged and rocky streets of our times, I and my friends had our knees always dusty and scratched.
