Fokker DVII

The Jasta 4 No. 4253/18 shown here is the one flown by the German ace Ernst Udet. The fuselage and the top of the horizontal stabilizers were painted red, while the wings and the lower part remained in the characteristic diamond-shaped colouring. On the sides of the fuselage were the letters LO!, the initials of Lola Zink, the future Mrs. Udet seen in the photograph together with the German ace. On the horizontal tail planes there were two white strips. This plane was equipped with a 185 HP BMWIII engine.
