From the movies posters to the painting

The first work of civil painter, after the return from the front, Paolo Tarquini performs that some cinematographic distribution companies carryng out countless posters and playbills of the movies going out. Between these: the almost complete series of the movies on Tarzan played by the American actors Jonny Weismuller and Buster Crabbe, carried out pastel on coloured paper. Above actvity last until the 1964 (done in cooperation with his brother Glauco). In the 1965 Paolo works, as assistant set designer, for the production of movie "Il tormento e l'estasi" of the director Carol Reed, nearby the cinematographic figures of the Sistine Chapel. Stll as of assistant set designer he performs depths and figures for several movies of Italian and foreing prodiction, both in the Experimental Centre of Set Designing and nearby the stage designing studies of Cinecittą. Contemporaneously with above activity and in the spare time he carriers out artistic portraits and nudes. In the 1973 he realised a picture of big sizes reproducing a Franz Von Stuck's painting used in the movie "Frankestein" played to Cinecittą and directed by Andy Warhol. Recently wit his brother Luigi, holder of an art gallery in the centre of Rome, Paolo Tarquini has collaborated to produce oil works and wall painting distempers that are realised on order or sold then in the art gallery.
Paolo Tarquini loves define himself a "painter not Painter" and his saying is sentence he lend by Marco Vallora's article of the Italian newspaper "La Stampa":
